art classes
for children

Between the years 2016 and 2019 I organised art classes and activities for children to improve their creative skills, self-confidence and empathy.

Listening and drawing. A synesthetic experience. Have you ever tried to draw music? Music is a powerful tool for dancing, sleeping, dreaming, but also to make art!

The course aimed to introduce the concept of “synesthesia” (from the Ancient Greek σύν (syn), “together,” and αἴσθησις (aisthēsis), “sensation”) to create art able to evoke a union of senses or the interchangeability of sensory perceptions.

Children have explored how to use the senses as a mean for inspiration through various methods and tools. The synesthetic association between music (sound, rhythm, melody) and visual (e.g. signs, patterns, etc.) have been the basis of step by step activities meant to help the understanding and the use of synesthesia in art.

Feb-March 2019, St Pauls Learning Centre,  Bristol (Uk), Age 6-9

Collage and monotype techniques workshop for children (age 6-9). Come and have fun with us and the fantastic animals!

The children experimented collage and monotype techniques inventing and designing fantastic animals. The aim of the activity was to liberate the imagination to create totem animals which are expressions of desired qualities and powers. Group play activities and the sharing of experience helped to create a friendly atmosphere and favour socialisation.

Silent Book workshop for children (age 6-9)

The workshop gave to the children the opportunity to create a story to express their inner world without the use of words. Creative and manual skills were stimulated by the creation of a physical book. Group play activities at the beginning of the day and the sharing of experience at the end helped to create a friendly atmosphere and favour socialisation.

art classes
for teenagers

I organised art classes for teenagers to explore and use art languages to express their critical view; favour introspection and the understanding of their feelings and emotions.

Silent Book workshop (age 15-18). Bookbinding and illustration techniques.

The participants experimented how to create a story without the use of words. Bookbinding techniques and different illustration styles have been introduced and explained to help each participant to find their uniqueness and specialness in the design of the “silent book”.
