Workshops
& art classes

Listening and drawing. A synesthetic experience. Have you ever tried to draw music? Music is a powerful tool for dancing, sleeping, dreaming, but also to make art!

The course aimed to introduce the concept of “synesthesia” (from the Ancient Greek σύν (syn), “together,” and αἴσθησις (aisthēsis), “sensation”) to create art able to evoke a union of senses or the interchangeability of sensory perceptions. Children have explored how to use the senses as a mean for inspiration through various methods and tools. The synesthetic association between music (sound, rhythm, melody) and visual (e.g. signs, patterns, etc.) have been the basis of step by step activities meant to help the understanding and the use of synesthesia in art.
